I have a question, I live beetween Aix and Marseille, so I don't have the same "eyes" to these cities than foreigner. I also worked and did my studies in these 2 cities. And I loved it (my studies).
But now, my point of view is a little bit different. I have a sort of detestation for Marseille, for me it's such a waste : too dirty, to much incivilities, corruption, etc. . And I never go to Marseille, except obligation or when I have friends or family from abroad.
And I've wondered if you see just the beauty (indeed, Marseille is quite beautiful) or also everything else (dirt...) ?
And yes, like other said , you missed Les Calanques (a must to visit when you are in Marseille), the Mucem and the ballad from it to Le panier... Close to Marseille, Cassis and its Calanques, and close to Cassis, La Ciotat with the beautiful "route des crêtes" (and theirs stunning point of views) which connect the two cities.
And so much other places and Cities and Village in Provence : La Camargue and the fortified city of Aigue Morte, Arles and its ancient monuments like Les Arènes/amphitheater.... (for me the most beautiful city in Provence), Les Baux-de-Provence with "La carrière des lumières", Saint Remy de Provence and its archaeological site of Glanum. Gordes, Avignon, Isle sur la Sorgue, The island of Porquerolle... And so many more...

Thank you for your smile. It's a source of pride for me who lives in this city. For information, the most beautiful view is the summit of Marseilleveyre, but it requires 2 hours of hiking in the callanques :-) it's a 360 view of the city and other islands but it's amazing view
