Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter returns to discuss the circumstances around the shocking retirement of Vince McMahon from the WWE. He details how he found out about the allegations about Vince, how the story was leaked to the press, and what may have forced Vince to leave after he said he wasnā€™t going anywhere. Dave talks about Stephanie McMahon and Triple H leading the company and how Stephanie and Nick Khan may handle their new co-CEO situation. He speculates on the creative and cultural changes at WWE, how much of a hand Vince will have in creative from the sidelines, what kind of impact this will have on AEW and the industry at large, and what the future may hold for WWE, including a possible sale.

I think WWE knew about Vince, then they had Stephanie leave so she wouldnā€™t be mixed up in Vince mess

It's funny that the way Vince left/retired is kinda what i expected and very Vince like after all these years, angles, reports. If there was not dig up and scandal, Vince just decided to step down that would have been truly anti climactic. Vince left in true Vince fashion

The key takeaway here is to never talk shit about anyone, publicly or privately; always maintain a tone of professionalism and respect, even if you vehemently disagree with someone. Because you never know when you may be called upon to defend your opinion of someone or something and it is to your benefit to have already framed your argument in a respectful manner in your head instead of trying to figure out how to polish the turd that is, "Man, that guy's a stupid prick," on the fly.

He did not sleep with that intern. As a matter of fact, he was Up. All. Night.

Iā€™m pretty sure she was in the plan to be ceo for a long time, probably years, and her stepping away was just a ploy to make her not seem like she was supporting Vince her dad, until he stepped down. Vince and steph, etc, knew Vinceā€™s misconduct was about to come to light to the public. So she stepped down before it was even news. And now sheā€™s back now that it seems Vince is out of the picture for wwe for good. She was just buying some time to create distance. Shane probably got let go because Vince knew his time was coming up soon, and he trusts steph and triple h to run things more than Shane himself. Ploys ploys ploys

Why are we so surprised he did all this? He played his character so well it blended into his real life

Still hard to believe Vince is gone from running WWE, Triple H has done a amazing job in the few weeks heā€™s had control, the future of WWE is bright šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

There are certainly staunch Vince McMahon loyalists in his company that would look the other way whenever they heard the rumors. Now that Vince is gone, Steph and HHH are gonna need to see who will stand by Vince and who is gonna move on from him.

Imagine getting people to chant "Thank you Dad" after he's caught for cheating on your Mom for the billionth time

I was a big wrestling fan from 80-18, but donā€™t watch much anymore. My kid has grown up and we just respectfully moved on. Iā€™ll say this, Y2J is best GOAT on the mic and a damn good wrestler. Freaking ā€œThe Listā€ schtick was stuff of legend

I listened to the full podcast. Dave is the king of saying you know, well everybody believes that, but it's a huge unanswered question, I mean, you know, so yeah, it's not confirmed, but who knows? WHAT

Since this is a Chris Jericho video, I read the title as Vance McMahon

Hey Chris remember when you said nothing bad would happen to Vince. Good times right.

Thereā€™s been guys paralyzed, killed, and committed suicide during him being head of WWE, and that doesnā€™t make him leave. His affairs are exposed and NOW he runs away. Thatā€™s absolutely crazy.

Decided to tune in to a full SD for the first time since before 2020 . Honestly seemed like more of the same UNTIL that ending which definitely had more of the NXT 1.0 feel that HHH is known for.

We all know Steph took time off to be with Paul because he almost died and was in his recovery process. Now with Vince he did what was best for business! Steph is Jeanie Buss and WWE is doing better than many expected.
