ABOUT DAVID GILMOUR
David Gilmour CBE, the voice & guitar of Pink Floyd, hit No. 1 in the UK with his 2006 solo album On An Island. Following Pink Floyd’s final album, 2014’s The Endless River, (No. 1 in 21 countries), David’s latest studio album, Rattle That Lock, and 2017's release of Live At Pompeii are out now. Buy via www.davidgilmour.com/

A Cambridge friend of Syd Barrett, David joined Syd, with Roger Waters, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason, in Pink Floyd in early 1968, only for Syd to leave the group five gigs later. Pink Floyd's subsequent huge worldwide success continued after Roger Waters' departure in 1985, with the albums A Momentary Lapse Of Reason and The Division Bell both charting at No. 1 in the UK and the US, and sell-out world tours. Rattle That Lock released in 2015 and David’s 4th solo album, went to No. 1 in 13 countries. In 2017, Live at Pompeii released as a live album and film which was recorded at the Amphitheatre of Pompeii.

I am 75 years old and I've been listening to PF for about 53 years. Listening to this cut takes me back to a more innocent time in my life. I was about 22/23 years old, long, dark hair, no wrinkles, smoking a little weed, my whole life ahead of me. I am now a grandfather with 4 grandkids. Life has flown by and I am a lot more introspective now. I still love PF but I look at my reflection in my iPad and the long dark hair is now short and silver, the wrinkles are many and I quit smoking weed years ago. I am very healthy but the end of my road ahead is in sight. I can close my eyes and remember the good times and there were many. I want you all to know that life is a gift. Don't squander it. Many don't make it to the place I am now in life. I thank God for what He has given me. Be good to people, marry a good person, love your kids and grandkids unconditionally. You get one chance at life. Don't blow it. Deep down, most of you are good people. Peace out, Tom P.S. YouTube "Rumpus Band" then go down to the 5th song. You'll be blown away. It's a kid band playing Comfortably Numb. I just discovered them.

This song is the most beautiful conversation between Rick and David.

Richard Wright has been gone for 15 years today...still missed, still grossly underrated for what he brought to Pink Floyd.

21:07 It hits different when you realise that Gilmour and Wright knew they were playing this song for the last time! It is about two great friends that have been on the road for more than 40 years saying goodbye to eachother trough the most beautifull music ever done! Always bring tears to my eyes! Just amazing!

Having ads in the middle of this powerfully mystical, tear-inducing, transcendental performance is next to sin and the ad producers should be prosecuted for crimes against culture.

I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shock both hands at the same time, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well.

18:00 = one of the most powerful moments in musical history. This is not up for debate...

The part at the last few minutes is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. Where it's just David Gilmour and Rick Wright's notes, bouncing off one another, like echoes. It's absolutely mesmerizing.

Richard Wright is that dude in the band no one really notice but equally contributed loads of talent of Pink Floyd’s music creation. RIP legend🙏

David and Richard at the end is like watching two old friends having a conversation with each other without needing to speak a word , note for note quietly saying goodbye. We miss you Richard Wright

He said I wont be playing echoes anymore , it just doesnt make sense without Rick. It was painful to hear but he is right.

I feel so sad for anyone lifting their finger to press dislike. I understand it’s free speech and this isn’t a political post, but I’m so sad for you - deeply sad, almost worried. This is the definition of excellence; pure gold.
