I was diagnosed as HIV positive a few hours before this album got released. June 2016. I can still recall myself in the day hospital, sitting on the white, sterilized bed. I was listening A Moon Shaped Pool. Since then, I've always been associating this album with my diagnosis, with all the related emotions and thoughts. Luckily enough I got tested positive way before aids syndrome. My daily medications are allowing me to survive and to live a pretty decent life without being dangerous to anyone. This music still hits hard, it's pure sorrowfulness, it's incredibly powerful.

Radiohead - Decks Dark (Lyrics)
Then in your life, there comes the darkness
There's a spacecraft blocking out the sky
And there's nowhere to hide
You run to the back and you cover your ears
But it's the loudest sound you've ever heard
And are we trapped? Rag-doll, cloth people
We are helpless to resist
Into our darkest hour
But it was just a laugh, just a laugh
Just a laugh, just a laugh
Even at this angle
And so we crumble
A ten ton head, made of wet sand
This dread circumference
You gotta be kidding me
The grass grows over me
Your face in the glass, in the glass
It was just a laugh, just a laugh
It's whatever you say it is
Split infinity
Then into your life, there comes a darkness
And a spacecraft blocking out the sky
And there's nowhere to hide
You run to the back and you cover your ears
But it's the loudest sound you've ever heard
Into your darkest hour
When you've had enough of me
When you've had enough of me
Sweet darling
When you've had enough of me
When you've had enough of me
Sweet darling
Sweet darling
Sweet darling
Sweet darling

Simple bass notes yet with a magical feel to the ears. Literally waited for the part from 3:22 for almost 4 years.

The lyrics to Subterranean Homesick Alien are
I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane
Late at night when I'm driving
Take me on board their beautiful ship
Show me the world as I'd love to see it
The song pictures an optimistic look towards the unkown. Since the protoganist feels out of place in this world he welcomes the aliens and wishes for his abduction. 19 years later Thom would write
Then into our life, there comes the darkness
There's a spacecraft blocking out the sky
And there's nowhere to hide
You run to the back and you cover your ears
But it's the loudest sound you've ever heard
which is basically the antithesis to his previous work. Indeed, this whole album captures an atmosphere of decay and futility. This parallel to their previous work is one my favorites moments of Radiohead's discography.

Radiohead has always been my go to band for a couple of reasons.
I found them first when I got rejected by my first crush in high school.
Creep was the first song I listened to and it instantly resonated with me.
I instantly gave a listen to their entire discography and I noticed something.
No matter who you are and what phase of life you are in now, there will come a time when a Radiohead song will resonate with you as if its a story of your life.
They’ve always been meticulous with their work and so every single melody, rhythm holds meaning.
Whether you’re happy, grieving or troubled with your problems, there’s always gonna be a song for you.
And in doing so you will find other people like me in comments like these, thus making you never really feel alone, but feel like a part of a bigger community.
Thank you Radiohead and have a great day to all the people who actually managed to read till this point.
Cheers.

It's been nearly 4 years and this still feels like "the new album."
