I've always wanted a game where we could properly explore High Charity. I could see an interesting Mass Effect style RPG set on High Charity during the Covenant's reign. Think of the cops on the Citadel, and then imagine a similar role for a Sangheili on High Charity, where you get to play as one of the guards. At first you're dealing with routine problems, like breaking up fights between Unggoy and Kig-Yar. But eventually, you stumble onto a massive conspiracy and fall in with a small splinter group. At the end of the game it's revealed that the one who opened your eyes is Sesa 'Refumee, and your entire group is fated to be killed at the hands of the Arbiter.

Regardless of its strength, I think that it makes a good bit of sense that High Charity's energy shields never fell before its destruction. The only times I can think of where it was involved in combat were the Grunt Rebellion and the fall of High Charity during the Great Schism. The Grunt Rebellion seems to have been primarily inside of the city and not that destructive to High Charity's systems, so I doubt that the energy shields would fall during the rebellion.

High Charity is indeed one of the most memorable city-ships in Sci-Fi, a grand mixture of elegant beauty and terrifying power.
In a bitter-sweet irony, the highest charity it ever gave was its own destruction, as that paved the way for Humanity to survive both the Covenant and the Flood. It would be wonderous to explore the city in any potential future prequal content.
Quite the delightful breakdown video.

This was a fantastically beyond thorough breakdown of high charity. I hadn’t even thought of half the things you brought up. It really got me thinking, especially when you said how generations of covenant are born and live out their lives never having been outside of high charity, about what a day in the life for a covenant individual would be. Like what was their economy and class system like? Religion is so pervasive in their culture, in what different ways do each species and rank interact with it? What role does enslavement play in their civilization? And since these autofab factories and forerunner power sources make it so production and energy are essentially free, what kinds of non military working roles are available to the general covenant population? It would be really interesting to hear something about average covenant civilians perspective on their upbringing, life, the war with humanity, and especially their thought on their own history, eventually leading up to great journey and the great schism. There’s a lot there, and I know there’s not a lot of source material for this, but it is cool to think about.

Imagine if the marines invaded the city and you’re down in the lower levels just being chill.
Then suddenly you see people are having blood spew out of them- shocked you turn your plasma pistols up and see nobody, only the casings of the billets rolling over the edge and plunging towards you and everyone else at terminal velocity.

Grave Mind & High Charity are the actual scariest levels of Halo 2 when you realize that in the background, far off-camera, literally billions of sentient/sapient civilians are getting killed and infected by the flood in mass while you're trying to make due on your mission. You're literally watching one of the, in-universe, greatest losses of life in (in-universe) history unfold before your eyes.
