I started playing the 360 and getting achievements in 2008 and have been pretty well addicted ever since lol. I'm now over 750k and still going strong. Also been a member of TA since 2011 and that has really helped with the earning, and also met a lot of my gamer friends on there.

This was a great video. I'm writing a script right now on achievements and felt like I needed to understand Xbox's achievements better. You definitely nailed it. I had no idea about the patches in the past. That's CRAZY! When I think about achievements, good ones, I think to God of War. I will NEVER forget the Dairy Bastard and how satisfying it was to unlock. Even in the past without the achievements we have now, I don't think that many games were that good at rewarding the player for doing anything outside of what they initially planned for the player to do. The high score system was clever for coin operated game machines because that was incentive for competition, which then had more people dropping more coin. And as you brought up, the gamerscore had you try games you probably wouldn't have because of those alluring points. I'll admit it was clever, but it's definitely not my favorite. Thanks again for the video. Well done.

Really interesting! The achievement I had always sought after was having a high school run in Nintendo Power but since I remained a retro gamer I didnāt ever get into achievement hunting. That being said I found Free Cell on my computer not long ago and got excited but thought it was funny that you now earn levels by beating games. There are even achievements in Free Cell now! š

Achievements are good in GOG and Steam but the disadvantage is that they never added any sound to the Steam achievements for some reason.

Anybody that has 1 million gamer score is definitely a fraud and has multiple people playing on their profile.
