Kurt once said : "I am not gay, although I wish I were, just to piss off homophobes"

He once said, “if you are racist, sexist, homophobic, or basically just an asshole, don’t buy this cd. I don’t care if you don’t like me, because i HATE you.” Those words struck me and later did i find out that pretty much all the guys i hang out with in highschool are assholes and most of my family except my mom, god i love her to death shes such a good mom

"I am not gay, although I wish I were, just to piss off homophobes." is the most manly thing I've ever heard from a person.

“I haven’t felt this optimistic since the divorce.” In hindsight, that’s heartbreaking.

The Feminist and Pro Gay Rockstar. This was early 1990s. Way ahead of his time.

He was such a conscious guy. Sensitive and assertive at the same time. What a great person and a great artist.

I enjoyed the question, “how do you sing?” I don’t think I heard another interviewer ever ask someone that especially with someone like Kurt who has a distinct style of singing. Seems like a question Kurt wanted to answer too.

Kurt was a man who fought for the rights of women and LGBT community. He defended victims of bullying and he fought against racism and sexual abuse. Because he had a lot of sensitivity and wisdom. I'm just tired of reading comments like: "he is overrated" or "he was just a depressed junkie". He did many more things for the others than all the people who talks shit about him.

Kurt Cobain is one of the few people I feel I can relate to. Obviously I never knew him, he was dead before I was born, but there is something about this guy that just feels real and genuine. He's a massive inspiration to me and I aspire to be able to stand up for what I believe in as he did.

I can’t believe how genuine and opened he is about his life.

Truth is that after his death a lot of people admire Kurt, but in real life often won`t be paying attention on the person with such type of personality

To all these rappers saying they’re the next Kurt Cobain: he would reject your trashing of women’s bodies and your mean spirit towards gay people

Have you guys seen the video of Kurt stopping mid show to defend a woman being harassed in the front row? That was cool to see. Respect Kurdt.

It’s almost sad to hear him so lucid and open here, seeming positive and fully himself. Its a constant battle to keep the darkness at bay.
