Imagine you join trackmania for the first time and you just hear people saying "yea man just go for a rammstein uber bugslide 360 combo hot pocket number 9 with a side of fries"

A track isn't truly optimised until Hefest gets a WR in it.

I like how you pay respect to the old records that would become obsolete with new shortcut discoveries. It gives a complete layman like me a sense of understanding what the goal used to be and how the goalposts were moved as time went on. You also have a nice voice and you are a great storyteller. I found you when you speedran Trackmania on AGDQ and I was baffled how you fluently you narrated your run in what I assume is your second language. I know next to nothing about Trackmania. I dont plan on ever playing this game, much less speedrunning it, but your narrations have me captivated.

I am just imagining a random dude trying to grind it the intended way and wondering "how does one save 8 seconds on a single right turn"

Lmao poor Trinity, spent 4 years to have his WR beaten in 3 days.

Videos like this are extremely important. There's only ever one world record holder per track and it won't even last forever, yet the work put in by the entire community - finding new strategies and refining old ones - is what makes this amazing. They may not hold the records, but there efforts need to be recorded for context.

The sheer amount of patience of playing a track for 600 hours is insane

Imagine grinding a level for 3 years to finally barely beat the record and then hearing that someone spent 5 minutes and launched themselves right to the finish line

That EmpLemon reference "Have you ever seen a Nascar fly" with Home's "We're Finally Landing" at 12:48 is honestly so good, and made me so happy

the real secret to a wr on a12 was actually having a person from France, Nord-Pas de Calais join your lobby 22:57 and 24:14

Hefest is just an absolute unit of a human being. A machine. A terminator. How does he pull it off? In every video about some insane or "impossible" WR, Hefest just comes in at the end and took it personally, that he wasn't the one holding the WR at the time. Holy mother of cow.
