I was there for her from the beginning. I accepted her as she was and forgave her for everything she did wrong. But as they say, if a bad apple sits next to a good one, the other one also gets bad, and over time we both became toxic. What I did for her, she didn't do for me and left when she knew I was in a bad moment of my life. 6 months have passed and I've been waiting for her, thinking about her every day, but I'm starting to feel much better and realize that if it was meant to be, it would have been! I've been on both sides of this coin.
Love is a tough thing to cultivate sometimes. Even when you want it to work, there are so many factors that influence how our brains react to stimuli.
Sometimes, letting go of the one you love is necessary to protect them. Sometimes, a partner won't be able to see the rot festering in a relationship. Either through rose colored glasses, a desire to "fix" someone, or just to keep things "comfortable."
Sometimes, it's time to be alone. Especially if you're lost, as it becomes easier to end up influenced by others and their paths when you feel adrift.
I'm sorry to anyone who's going through heartache right now. I hope everyone is able to find some inner peace. Sadly, it is up to us and us alone to be truly happy. The world and things in it will come and go, but you are stuck with yourself forever.
So, if you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love someone else??
