Since 2018, I've abandoned a single big resolution, and built hierarchical systems of daily micro-resolutions, weekly mini-resolutions, monthly macro-resolutions, and an annual super-resolution. It's served me really well so far, and I will continue to do this so long as I am of sound mind and body.

My "resolution" this year, I suppose, is to work more towards my goals in my speedrunning journey, specifically in my main game. I'm not making it "I'm going to reach it this year", but rather "I will be trying my best to get close to it as possible". Whether I manage to reach the tip top echelon this year or not (2nd in RTA, Top 10 average finish in time trials, etc.), I'll know that I have made progress, and that I will reach this goal if I keep at it. Resolutions are all a mentality thing for sure haha

I think you should start with small things.
Don't add too much on your lists if you're still not done with the rest of your goals. That will just make you more desperate and less motivated to complete the rest of the list.
For example, I decided to get into meditation, especially because it's very beneficial.
So instead of doing 30 or 40 minutes in the very first day, I tried to go for 3-5 minutes.
Second day 10 min, third day 15-20 min ... and so on. Once you're confortable it's only about maintaining that habit.
I also set a specific schedule to do this. In my case, before going to sleep in order to get better rest.

New Year's resolutions often fail when our hearts aren't fully committed, even if our minds desire change. To boost success, set realistic goals, break them into smaller steps, and maintain a positive mindset. Seek support from friends or family, as small, sustainable changes lead to long-term happiness.

My sheer lack of motivation is no excuse for a 10 minute video
