For 35 years, scientists and astronomers have been intrigued by a mysterious signal arriving from space every 22 minutes. This relentless pattern has sparked a multitude of questions and theories about its origin and meaning. Is it a natural cosmic phenomenon, or could it be an attempt at communication from an extraterrestrial intelligence?

Iā€™ll save you sixteen minutes of your life: itā€™s a magnetar.

More than likely, it's a group of teenage aliens getting stoned and making prank phone calls.

This video is a great drinking game. Have a shot each time he says ā€œGPMJ1839-10ā€

I'd be willing to bet that that 35 year period started when we started listening and not when the signal began.

The thing I found most fascinating about your video was the flawless repetition of you saying, "Gee pee em jay eighteen thirty nine dash ten" throughout it.

Ah yes, the "magnitude of a magnetar's magnetic field"

We could call it the "Milkywave" much easier to say and remember.

Preparing now for the nightmares I'll be having about those Array spiders coming to life.

Narratorā€™s voice tingles the same parts of my brain that Marty Stouffer did on Wild America.

Maybe it's a beacon for interstellar travelers.

Sounds like a very, very patient alien with a radio transmitter.

With all due respect, your stock videos imply that this signal is directed at our planet in a very limited space. I think we should consider the spread of a radio signal that is crossing the path of our solar system for 35 yearsā€¦

Magnetic fields are only produced by electric currents. So, double interactions are most likely two twisting Birkland Currents in a Z-pinch. Criminy (trans. Geez)

If it were an artificial signal it would have readable code within it that would very occasionally change. It doesn't have readable code and is of variably received amplitude for natural reasons we don't know.

"Intrigued bewilderment" is my favorite state of the scientific community!
