I had the utter joy & pleasure to witness this live in my hometown of Liverpool, a February night in 2024 that I will never forget.
I’ve seen many live bands in the past 36 years from youth to now in my 50,s. Slowdive just blew me away with such a magical live experience that I didn’t think was possible anymore. Don’t ever give up an opportunity to see this very special band perform.

It was a windy, rainy night, driving on pitch black country roads. The CD was playing and when this song came up I realised the guitars also sounded like battered by wind and rain, and the vocals like distant echoes of an argument between two ghosts. And then this eerie echoing bit at the very end felt so spooky I thought I'd spot an actual ghost on the road any second now. Then 'The Slab' started and I was glad that the album ends on a more lively note! Slowdive's music is usually soothing in a bittersweet way, but they do ocasionally get scary, like on this one, or 'Miranda'... masterful stuff, after 20+ years I still can't get enough of them.
