U.S. fans should know she's from New York City and went to Columbia University. It's no surprise her English good. 💁🏿‍♂️

Her JP vs. English straight up sounds like two separate people. Granted I don't understand the Japanese, but I can sense the very mature outlook in her english answers.

For someone who has actually taken Japanese classes, I believe why you guys think her english sounds dull is because Japanese is a very expressive language, while English really isn't. SN: Utada-San sounds like a native New Yorker when she speaks English and I'm here for it!

Sanctuary was one of the most mythical songs I’ve ever heard. The second I heard it on the kingdom hearts previews it changed my entire vibe within middle school.

As someone who has loved Utada's music since childhood, I never once saw Utada as a real person before watching this 😅.. in my mind, she's been this mystical being that graces my ears for too many years

It's interesting having watched some of her older interviews where she's speaking English and comparing it to this livestream. Back then she sounded more American like when she was on a Japanese TV show and they made her speak English with David Beckham her flow was much more American sounding. I think lately her Japanese has really taken over and her English is more secondary.
