That is the exact way I was taught, double stop Nashville scale. It is help for like Nashville number system in that it helps like location tips for what to play in many country songs the scale idea(Nashville Scale).

I don't know why the the deminshed chord is taught as the 7th chord cause no one uses it. In just about every song in the rock, blues, pop, country etc, genre that chord is a minor. CM,dmin,emin,FM,GM,Amin,bmin. That's what should be taught
