We laid in bed next to each other, staring at the ceiling which was patched with glow-in-the-dark stars. It made our small world emerald green.
“Y’know what would be funny?” I asked.
“What?” She replied, her hazel hues falling upon me. We held each-others hands, which was common within our “girl” friendship- but I couldn’t help but to feel the action intertwined with our hearts as our fingers did with each other.
“If I said I liked you.”
“..Like.. Like-like?”
I laughed softly at her childish words to describe a crush, “Yeah.”
A giggle came out from behind her brown lips. It was sweet. It reminded me of yellow and orange. The same mesh of colors that stretched the dawn sky in the Summer time.
“What would you say if I did?” I asked, putting on one of my goofy smiles.
She made me feel like pink. The same type that glowed on manufactured sugary clouds at the food carnival stands.
“I’d say...”
Moments passed.
I assumed she was thinking.
Was she trying to find a way to let me down slightly? The thought of the rejection dried my mouth & made my heart drop.
“I like you back.”

POV: Everyone has their own story, and if they're the main character or not is up to them. You, however, don't consider yourself as one. But rather, a comedic relief character, adding some humor to the lives of the main characters. You felt somewhat, sad, as you thought that. But until you met [Him/Her] They seemed like the main character, with their looks, personality, and just their charm was so mesmerizing. You tried your hardest to get closer to them but all you got was a simple interaction where you made a joke and they laughed... At least you saw their smile right? Because you're just a comedic relief character. Nothing more.
