The least belivable thing is that there's no way they're the weirdest looking people in Venice beach

I wish Gosling did more comedies because damn he's so good at it

I was sat next to a kid who whispered to his Mum ‘What’s a facist’ 😂

I will say that airing at the exact same time as Oppenheimer was honestly genius. The fact that people are buying both tickets to see both films at the same day really does say something.

my only complain about barbie is that i wish the first act was longer. i wanted to explore every little crevice of barbieland and when we go straight into the plot i was like “man… already?” i know it’s a meme but i genuinely believe the only bad thing about this film is that it’s not longer.

I'm surprised that so many people were surprised that the movie took the angle that it did. Like...Greta Gerwig writing and directing it didn't tip you off at ALL?

I think it's easy to understate Margot Robbie's influence on the production of the film, and how good she is not only as an actor but a producer. She's responsible for bringing Gerwig on board, and I think she was crucial in seeing this movie's vision through.

Ryan Gosling really said "I'm going to play Ken with the most commitment possible and sell every goddamn second of it" and it has got to be the standout performance of the film for me.

I LOVED this movie. Now I’m waiting for the “I am Kenough” hoodies to be sold everywhere

I loved this movie. Cillian Murphy was great as Barbie but Emily Blunt as Ken was the absolute best.

In no way did I anticipate just how much I was going to enjoy Ryan Gosling as Ken.

What you said about the movie feeling like a child excited to tell you a bunch of things etc was an excellent description of the movie. It has this very childlike tone that was very honest and direct yet talking about deeply complex and adult philosophy

The early movie got some chuckles (mostly cause a ton was in trailers). But by midpoint and till the end we were all losing our minds with laughter but still quiet for the thinky parts. It was the best of both. I’m seeing it again in theaters for sure.

wasn’t expecting to feel so emotionally impacted near the end. I knew it would have serious moments but holy shit I cried

Real glad this film was able to just barely dodge the impact of the writer/actor strikes. Was nice to get one last great film before the industry collapses under the weight of malpractice.

I have mixed feelings about the movie. I love barbieland and i think the first act was the highlight of the film, but the trailers relied on it so much I felt like I had already experienced the bulk of it. The movie also introduces new characters and elements at such a fast pace i feel like it forgets about its lead character near the end of its second act. We only really get one scene where barbie truly begins to contemplate what life is outside of barbieland, so the end of her arc, while apropriate and expected, doesn't necessarily feel earned. And the film does get preachy, which isnt inherently a bad thing, as long as the audience doesnt feel preached to, which is a bit hard when the characters seem to constantly use buzzwords to vocalize their situation. Enjoyed the film but not as much as I expected to.

This was definitely one of my favourite theatre-going experiences. A six year old girl was sitting next to me and when Ken told Ken, “You can’t beach yourself off” everyone laughed, but this little girl turned to her mom and went “what’s so funny! Tell me!” Also, the group cry in the womens bathroom after the film was the closest to Barbieland we’ll ever get.

This whole movie just had "Youtube Poop Kenergy" written all over it, from Lizzo speaking to Barbie when she falls in the beginning, to the purposely bad visual effects, to the Hanna-Barbera running sound effect the executives (and Adam Groff) made when they were scrambling, to the Kens' fascination with horses, to the grand, mind-fuck ending montage. And I LOVED IT.
