I was there for this Outstanding concert as a young 16yr old Mad mod back in 1982, There was Twelve of us from Worcestershire that all piled into a Minibus for a concert that i will never forget, Fantastic Vocals from Paul" and Bruce" and Mind blowing work on the drums from Rick, Still have all my Huge Vinyl collection and have met Paul and Rick several times over the years, Pleasure to be part of our growing up music culture that will never fade away,. πŸ’―πŸ‘Œ

The passion, the angst, the anger, the brilliance. Won’t ever be a band like them.

One of the very few bands I really regret not seeing live back in the day.

I'm Japanese, but I love the UK. The reason is that there are so many great rock bands! We are no match for your country. Britain is rock to me! My dream is to eat fish and chips with British rock musicians!πŸŽΈπŸŽΌπŸŽΉπŸŽΊπŸŽ·πŸ˜‚

I'd just add to what was said. Foxton and Buckler were the tightest kick arse backline ever. The Jam were three individuals. Without Weller's songs and presence wouldn't exist. BUT they did. And without Bruce and Rick would be a very different entity. It just seemed to coalesce. These people saved my life as a teenager. I was slipping down the drain. And these words and music quite literally saved my life. Without them I'd almost certainly be dead by now. That attitude ! and belief. Evident in every note or hit. I recall an NME interview where Weller said something along lines of 'we all have to take responsibility and whatever you do you do it as well as you can'. I've always lived by that maxim. I saw them live a few times and it was always an almost religious experience. These 3 people gave me a belief system, they instilled discipline, gave me an anchor to something. This is no exaggeration. They really were that important. Listen to everything and look at everything. Quite astonishing really that a 'pop group' could have such a profound affect on someone's life. But my word they did. Thank you. I'm still alive. C

Let me join the chorus: Bruce is absolutely brilliant. Swagger, mad skills, killer vocals, and footwork to boot. It's enough to make one forgive him the haircut.

Put this in a time capsule to remind future generations how fantastic music used to be.

Horribly underappreciated here in the U.S. except for a few rare people with a sense of superior discernment of which I am grateful to count myself as one.

What a great way to kick off 2023! Still fresh forty years later. Bruce Foxton is one those unique bass players who makes you want to take up the instrument.

Bruce Foxton an Rick Butler are the most underrated rhythm section in rock history. Amazing band and Paul Weller is amazing. Have loved this band since the 1970's.
