Halo reach was the most gritty halo game and honestly that’s something special. It makes you realize that Spartans are people too— people who can die even though genetically modified. Not to mention, the detail bungie put into the spartan armor added to the this. The armor had detail and was scratched and stuff... in the newer halos a spartan looks like action figures

1:10:40 is so powerful. It’s the moment where the entire game’s mood changes from constant inevitable loss, sadness and tragedy to a heart-wrenching relief and beacon of hope.

Halo: Reach's campaign was unique in the way that in the beginning of the campaign, the music and the tone felt new, tactical, and militarized, but towards the end of the campaign, it starts to feel more like Halo. The music becomes more somber and there are fewer drums and electronic beats and more monk chants/orchestra. The situation becomes and feels more desperate, as you try to get to the Pillar of Autumn and send it on its way. By the time the campaign is over, the Autumn and the Chief have left the military planet Reach, and the Pillar of Autumn is alone in space and has discovered Halo. The space opera has started. By now, the game has transitioned perfectly into Halo: CE.
That is why I think Bungie did such a great job on Halo Reach.
your perspective on the game really changes if you go back and play the campaign again after a couple of years, you should try it.

Reach was (still is) a roller coaster ride (emotionally) for me. After deploying and losing friends, the game took on a whole new meaning to me. This is a game for soldiers, for anyone...arguably, who has lost something or someone near and dear to them. This is what makes Reach the most easily relatable piece of (Halo) art to the human psyche; my opinion, of course. What an epic...powerful, and inspiring soundtrack. No other Halo comes close, for me

Just finished playing the campaign for the first time ever. I never got to experience this when I was younger because I couldn't afford an XBOX, but now, me being 25 years old and having my own job, I finally purchased a gaming PC and downloaded the MCC. I had only ever played Halo CE when I was a kid. My inner child is happy right now as I finally continued the story from where I left off many years ago. Reach may be the best Halo experience ever for me. Amazing game!
