One hand on her waist, his right hand clasping her left, they twirled around the elegant ballroom floor. As if they were in their own world, they danced the night away. All she cared about was his toothy grin and the way his hair clung to his sweaty face. All he cared about was the sweet sensation her touch brought him, the way that she laughed when he spun her around. Eventually the music faded, the lights dimmed, the patrons evacuated the large room. The lovesick couple stayed, dancing as if time would wait for them.
Leading with his right foot,
the ship jolted..
He tightened his grip on her waist and lifted the petit girl off the floor.
a loud crack..
She laughed, floating in the air as if there were no gravity to keep her on the earth.
the ship starts to tilt..
His smile was as big as a kid in a candy store. His polished leather shoes were as quiet as a mouse compared to the loud clicks of her heels on the floor.
water pooled beneath their feet..
They danced, they held each other, they smiled, they laughed, they kissed. The lovely music in their heads continued to synchronize their heartbeats, as if the couple were not two, but one.
the lights were out..
She became lighter in the water, easier to spin and twirl. She floated like a feather on a gust of wind. He enjoyed watching her in her state of carelessness. Not a thing could separate the two from their own world, where the music never stopped playing and the lights never faded.
they can’t breathe..
A ghost of the beautiful ship it once was, it now lies at the floor of the ocean. Their once energetic, youthful bodies now just evidence of a horrific accident. Alas, they never stopped dancing. Now, they dance with the currents of the ocean, still within each other’s grasp. Mind, body, and soul, forever entwined. They are one.

POV:
You are on a vacation, and went to go visit an abandoned castle. The palace gets very few visitors each year, but nobody has ever been able to enter, they say very few unknown people own the key to the door.
Since the palace was just a few hours away from your hotel, you thought it would be fun to visit, since the whole line of women in your family always carried the key pendant. You thought it would be a fun idea just to see if it would actually open, "You have arrived at your destination." The palace was dark and the exterior was covered in ivy. It enchanted you, you walked up the elegant tile path and came to the door. You took out your key and wobbled it around the keyhole.
A mountain of dust covered you yet, the door had opened. Your jaw dropped, you ran inside, paintings and elegant things covered the walls. Everything was so clean and looked as if it had been preserved for a long time. You turned your head to hear a squeaky noise, it was a women holding a bright lantern.
"You’ve arrived, he has been waiting for you." She grabbed your arm, yet you tried to pull away. But her grip was too tight. You yelled, "Hey! What are you doing?" The women said, "The key.. you have it, your the one." She pulled your arm to a dark hallway, and closed the large dusty doors behind her. You started banging on the door, "H-hey open this up! I wanna leave."
Till your heard a voice it was very deep but calm, "But you’ve just arrived, why don’t you stay a bit longer?" You turned to see a man with long black hair dressed in fine clothes. He started walking closer, "It’s really you, now we can finish off were we started." He grabbed your waist and pinned you down against the door. "We were dancing, you collapsed and left me right then and there." He grabbed your jaw and brought his face closer to your’s.
Then you had awoken. Was it all just a dream? You woke up and looked to your bedside, and there it was, a rose was tied to the pendant with a note, "This was just the beginning for now, my love."
Sorry if it’s too long! 😅

Tonight was the night. Tonight the war would end, for better or for worse. From the windows of the castles you could see the fires raging bright orange. Lighting up the night sky brighter than the moon ever could. If you listen hard enough you can hear the men fighting.
But inside the castle the king and queen are sharing a final dance. It’s peaceful, they both know that tonight could very well be the last night of their lives. If things don’t go according to their plan it’s over. And even if they do they will not be safe from danger.
Neither care if they die. The only thing they have left is each other. War takes everything from everyone, even a king.

“It’s late”, a voice says behind me that sends chills down my spine.
I whipped my head around to see him. He was tall, his dark curly hair looked dew-like in the sprinkling rain, and his eyes touched a part of my soul that I thought I had lost.
A part of my soul that I was searching for.
The part that led me to this late night walk.
“I- I didn’t hear you behind me”, I wiped the wet hair from my eyes, “I’m just for a late night walk.”
“In the rain?”, he laughed showing his perfectly white teeth and smile lines.
“Yes”, I smiled back, “A soul cleansing tactic, I suppose.”
“Darling”, he took a few strides toward me and rested his hand upon my cheek, “Let’s go back inside.”
As odd is it was for this stranger to touch my face so intimately, it felt so familiar. I melted in his presence for a second before backing away.
“I’m- I’m okay thank you”, I laughed nervously, “I should head back home.”
He dropped his hand and titled his head in disappointment.
“You are home.”
My gut dropped at the sound of those words. I glanced to the edge of the lawn resting beside the sidewalk. The metal gate and freshly kept lawn leading to the doors of the castle beckoned me inside.
“No”, I whispered and shook my head as the tears filled my eyes, “Has it happened again?”
He gulped and nodded his head slowly. He grabbed my hand and led me through the gate and onto the wrap around porch. The closer I got inside the more it all came back to me.
He opened the door and my soul stepped back inside of me as I stepped inside.
I turned to the man that was just a stranger to me moments ago and collapsed in his arms.
“It’s okay”, he whispered and kissed the top of my forehead as we sunk to the ground, “You know we cannot leave the house my love, our souls remain here.”
This was my eleventh time this week. I knew the pain and disillusionment that followed stepping outside these walls but I could not help but follow Mother Nature’s calls for me to breathe her fresh air. I felt alive again for those few free moments. If it weren’t for him I would have dissolved into nothing by now, but he always managed to return me to my soul, which irrevocably happens to be the place of my death.
“I miss it”, I confessed as my tears stained against his white collared shirt.
He pulled away and lifted up my chin, “I know.”
“Til death do us part”, I whispered with a smile as I twisted his wedding ring around his finger.
“Who knew that part was a lie?”, he smiled softly.
I leaned back into his arms and looked down at the checkered marble floor. I remember being able to see my reflection the first day we stepped into this house. Now the empty gloss just stared back at me.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
Maybe an eternity of death wasn’t so bad.
Maybe him, the castle, and I could live in perfect matrimony until the end of time.
At least until Mother Nature beckoned me to smell her fruits once again.
And the Devil himself brought me back inside.
