There was a full circle moment, when Wonka lost his last coin down that street drain. That has to be the coin Charlie Bucket finds, buys one more chocolate candy and finds the golden ticket.

the most unbelievable thing in the whole movie was how Willy kept this bar of chocolate his mother gave him when he was a child for all those many, many years (even while traveling aboard to hot climates), yet it was still edible at the end.

Honestly, I would argue that Wonkaās experiences with the Candy Cartel and the inn probably helped wisen him up. Like, his sense of whimsy never left and he knows thereās good people in the world, but seeing the level that some people went to screw others over for their own benefit probably helped make him get a little more cynical of certain individuals (plus, you know, people sending spies to his factory to steal his recipes probably didnāt help).
