Wonka's father, Count Dooku, is so proud of him despite their differences.

Please say in your epic voice "Now you take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby, youā€™ve got a stew going." in honor of Carl Weathers

There was a full circle moment, when Wonka lost his last coin down that street drain. That has to be the coin Charlie Bucket finds, buys one more chocolate candy and finds the golden ticket.

the most unbelievable thing in the whole movie was how Willy kept this bar of chocolate his mother gave him when he was a child for all those many, many years (even while traveling aboard to hot climates), yet it was still edible at the end.

You know, that scene where they were in the chocolate vat, swam in chocolate, but then gave all the chocolate to the people. All of that chocolate was contaminated by them, thus began his constant health and safety violations.

They kept the location of Charlie's home and the factory obscure in the original, even adding in contradictory details so it couldn't definitely be placed in any location

ā€œHe froze to death on that bench didnā€™t he!?ā€ Hey this isnā€™t Film Theory! Wellā€¦ I suppose it could be now.

I like that thereā€™s a generation of kids who are going to one day realize this was their introduction to movies about the drug trade and a first lesson about how the state will inflict violence to serve the interests of business.

Honestly, I would argue that Wonkaā€™s experiences with the Candy Cartel and the inn probably helped wisen him up. Like, his sense of whimsy never left and he knows thereā€™s good people in the world, but seeing the level that some people went to screw others over for their own benefit probably helped make him get a little more cynical of certain individuals (plus, you know, people sending spies to his factory to steal his recipes probably didnā€™t help).

Wasn't expecting much but I ended up liking it actually and even got quite emotional at the end.

In your epic voice, please say "I require the milk of a giraffe." I was surprised this is an actual line in a movie. Then again, it's totally the kind of thing Wonka would say.šŸ˜‚ Timothee Chalamet actually did a decent job in my opinion.

1:34-1:45 The Timothee Chalamet prequel I never asked for, but kind of love anyway for proving how far he's come. šŸ˜…

I actually adore the music of this film. I've been playing it since leaving the movie theater.

That's at least the third week in a row where the Honest Trailer guy quotes Bluey. Speaking of which, please say, "I'm not taking advice from a cartoon dog."
