I always love someone approaching Taylor for the first time with an open mind. The funny thing about the Romeo and Juliet song (“Love Story”) is that she was about 18 years old. She’s 34 now. The second you quoted Oscar Wilde I thought, “Oh, yeah, he’s going to be a Swiftie eventually.” As a rapper, you will definitely appreciate her lyricism. Would love to see your reaction to “Look What You Made Me Do”, “Don’t Blame Me”, and “Are You Ready for It” — the live performance videos from her Reputation tour are killer and showcase some of her other strengths as an artist. She DOES write all her own music (she will often work with a close collaborator like Aaron Dessner or Jack Antonoff or Lana Del Rey) but she is a songwriter first and foremost. ❤

One thing I appreciate about a Taylor Swift video is there are always dozens of Easter eggs. She hide relevant clues, inside jokes, and genuine puzzles into her lyrics and the visuals too. She’s a master at it, and often leaves hints as to which videos or albums are coming up next. Sometimes people only find them after the new one comes out and they can see it in hindsight. Some Easter eggs are as much as 10 yrs before they come to fruition. Whether a person likes the music, you have to respect the effort and planning that she puts into it!

Taylor is a really good songwritter, she writes her own music and sometimes music for other people. I think you will appreciate her lyrics in many of her songs. This video was interesting to watch because you paid attention to the lyrics and the world she created with this music video. Her lattest album The Tortured Poets Department has really good lyrics on it and I recommend you the track "The Tortured Poets Department"
