Ok. I'm officially the most embarrassed 71 yr. old on planet earth. I never thought about the pick guard doing anything but preventing scratches on the guitar! :( Thanks Ian. I'll leave now. Oh well, never to old to learn something new.

And as always, very cool. Been aware of the sound hole stuff for a long time. Have to say the note timbre thing surprised me. I immediately thought about using the timbre for solo dynamics. Awesome! Thanks! Off to play!

This helped me overcoming my hate for little travel acoustic guitar that I have, sounded always way too thin and now when I consciously move hand more toward neck she starts sounding reasonably good.
