She should be charged with false impersonation and striped of all her rewards. I saw her in person in Fort Frances, ON and was saying First Nations people should move on from the traumas because people all over the world for the last 500 years experienced the same traumas. I thought this was weird. And now I believe her false statements just added more trauma and shame to people. She should also be charged with extortion against her brother.

Still waiting for her DNA test! "Buffy Sainte-Marie continues to claim her 'Indigenous identity' but specific claims to her Cree ancestry have vanished from her official website. Now, the Piapot First Nation's acting chief says the singer owes his community a definitive answer and should take a DNA test."

I discovered her music at age 14 and absolutely loved her. I'm 70 years old now and this was such a major shock. She was my idol in my teenage years. It's actually devastating and heartbreaking news.
I would love to believe that it's all a mistake, but I know it's not… She's a phony!!! . How does she sleep at night? One of my Lakota friends actually doesn't believe it ...he thinks the story is bullshit. I can understand him, not wanting to believe it, but all my other friends know it's true.

Why did it take sixty years for someone to dig into this? Seriously, in the seventies, when I first became aware of her (my family mostly listened to country music, and rarely had a tv until the 70s, so I didn't have much chance to hear her before then)...I couldn't stand her, because she felt fake. My father always went around claiming to be Cherokee, which was ridiculous, but the truth is, we do have some small amount of Indian blood, just don't know which, or how far back. Because my father's BS about being Cherokee was really embarrassing, I think that had a lot to do with my feelings about Beverly Santa-Maria.

I've shared this on some other videos. Some of you might find it interesting.
I went on Twitter looking for tweets related to the Buffy biography written by Andrea Warner. I came across these tweets from someone from back in January 2023.
Pt1
"I read Andrea Warner's bio on Buffy, and I had some questions regarding her adoption. Why didn’t Warner explore more of Buffy’s biological relations on Piapot? How did her adopted parents happen to be in southern Sask in the 40s and come to adopt Buffy from a Cree family"?

---------------
pt2
"Didn’t Buffy ask questions about her biological parents and the exact location where her adopted parents adopted her? Has Buffy explored the possibility of DNA tests to find her biological relatives on the Piapot Rez or Saskatchewan"?

I really appreciate everything you have talked about.
Do you want to clear up one thing and it’s about the Johnny Depp character in Pirates of the Caribbean . Johnny Depp, you can find this easily based his character on Keith Richards, including his movements. the second part of the Caribbean movie, Keith Rodgers does appear as his father, it’s an interesting fact very easy to fact check online feel free to do so other than that. Thank you very much ladies, I really appreciated everything you said

I am sickened every time I think of the schools, especially knowing they suffered the further indignity of losing their precious hair. That makes me cry, knowing the torture these little children endured. I think of it quite often, especially since I live in Utah where these schools existed. So very sorry.💙

Really great discussion. I am an Ojibway woman from Canada. So pissed off with so many in my community are still saying "I support Buffy". It is disgusting that she did this for 50 years. Her own community of Piapot is not in support of her claiming to be adopted, even their chief. Only her family, whose elderly parents/grandparents were deceived by her in the 1960s by her fake adoption story as a grown woman, are in full support of her. Adoption does not make your Indigenous, you are a white person adopted by Indigenous family. She also dissed her biological family by denying she was born to them, made them look like a very cruel, unkind, unloving family which must have hurt her mother tremendously. And then to claim her brother molested her, mainly said to keep him quiet and not out her as a pretendian? Disgusting all around.
