Just discovering her music ... love it. She's a gifted song writer for sure. I came here after listening, repeatedly, to "Circle the drain" and "Yellow is the color of her eyes". I was immediately drawn to the music at first. There's something about her indie-pop-alternative style of music that I love. But the lyrics of her songs are on another level. I also have to say that, stylistically, the videos for these 3 songs in particular have taken me back to similar time in my life. They have an older home-movie quality to them which, in a way, is nostalgic I guess. To me, this video has a sense of being from the point of view of someone who wants to be more than just a friend, as if you're seeing her through that person's eyes. The close up shots of her eyes, her mouth, her legs and feet. The way she holds the steering wheel with her hands cupped together when she's driving the car. These are little things that someone notices about another person when they're attracted to them. Pay attention girls ... this is the way a boy looks at a girl when he's falling for her. So to me, the video does a good job of complimenting Sophie's lyrics, and I'm glad she chose someone who tried to capture the feeling in her lyrics rather than create a video interpretation unrelatable to those lyrics.
