A few months ago, one of my patrons sent me a bunch of old gold jewelry for me to refine. I originally thought that it was going to just be some gold plated stuff, but it turned out to be quite a bit of gold. I was able to purify out all of the gold and then melt them down into some small 24K pure gold bars.

As an Indian woman, while not rich, I've accumulated some gold (Indian marriages tend to involve jewellery), not to mention what my mother has. I don't wear jewellery. Correct me if I am wrong here, but that Rolex seems to be a $17,000 watch if it's real. I'm no watch expert so can someone help me understand what I am seeing here? I just can't see someone sending in a $17,000 watch to be scrapped for the gold content in it, which has to be minute at best. I'm sure I will feel stupid once someone explains it to me!
