My gift to myself when joining the army was a brand new discman and 4 Cd's this was the first one I picked, as well as Prodigy's fat of the land, Orbital in sides, and Daft Punk's Homework, holy crap my mind was blown, as I blindly selected probably the best electronica albums ever made. 1997 was an amazing year man

My introduction to electronic music came from Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, and Prodigy. I feel so damn privileged to have grown up in this era of music!

What a timeless album. Big shout from the US. Britain really does produce some talent. Loving Chemical Brothers and also other various UK electronica based acts like Underworld, The Prodigy, Faithless, Burial, Unkle, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, Orbital, Leftfield, Stereo Mcs, The Streets, Goldie, Sleaford Mods, The Bug, AllFlaws

The best music to write code to. Shut out all the noise, crank it up and ride the wave! I'm retired now but I did some of my best work under the influence of Orbital, Chemical Brothers, and Deadmou5! The good old days of UNIX, ksh, C, python, perl, java, tcl . . .

This album absolutely converted me to listening to all things electronic first. I was living in Central Kansas in a tiny little town at this point in time - at a not great time of my life - and it kept me sane, knowing bigger and better things were out there.

I was born in 1980, raised on TCM and Chemical Brothers in the 90's, Nirvana, Soundgarden. These days I feel like Stan Marsh listening to dubstep and have found that the proposed solution helps me get through the day. My music collection stops pretty much stops at 2003, with a few outliers since.

I'm thinking of "The Private Psychedelic Reel" as a sort of 90s version of "Tomorrow never knows" from The Beatles. The sound, the sitar sample, even the rhythm. Everything seems to pay some kind of homage to that musical research.
