We use sawdust in the coop and covered run to keep it dry. Turning it daily makes great compost for planting corn and squash. Straw bales along the inside perimeter of the run absorb water and give entertainment and perches for the chickens to enjoy. The spent straw is used as mulch in the garden during the summer months.

Spotlight suggestion: other races of bees. Early on you covered italian and carniolan but there are a number of other tiny livestock you could cover too. Russians, Saskatraz, buckfast, caucasian, cordivan and/or hybrids to name a few.
I found you guys a few months back and have been powering through your videos. I love the content and especially the breed spotlights. Keep up the good work!!

I use the" deep liter method" if that's a thing. The chickens did okay all winter and when I realized it was getting to deep and started removing the poop under thier roost instead of adding more bedding it was steaming needless to say they were feel fine .The spring I did have to replace the bedding but by then we order a large coop and they were free to roam around.

Common problem for sure! We are in the process of building a roof and French drain as we speak. ๐
