Thanks to the pandemic and my retirement I have watched many, many, episodes in the last few months. So glad I "dug up" this series. Happy to grow old with them all. How wonderful! Love to Phil.... A man who loves what he does!!! Lucky Phil.

Three days never seems long enough, but what you find reveals a lot of history.

Phil is my favorite. I’ve seen about ten of these and he’s the best. Talks like an academic, works like a ditch digger, looks like an old hippie.

Just when you think things are starting to get back to normal Tony Robinson jumps off a boat yelling, “WHY?? I’LL TELL YOU WHY!!!” Defying space, time, and the reaper in one of the greatest intros I’ve ever seen. Well done sir 🖖

"Finding them in the ditches, finding them on the beaches..." Sir Tony is doing yet another epic Sir Winston travesty here loool! Only lacking Blood, ticks and toes! 🤣

Somebody should release a few guinea hens on Green Island. They would take care of the ticks.

This looks like a beautiful place. I wouldn't expect to see such a lush forest that close to sea water.

7:33 looks like the bottom for a drop spindle... A piece of wood fits into the middle, wool or flax worked around the center pole in your fingers as the weight and spinning of the base pulls the fibers out...

As much as the cores could be from bangles, the industrial purpose for a chase baring is far more likely. Pulleys, axles, and rotational posts, mostly for seamanship. Waterproof, non-swelling tiller seat.

Lovely Island...I live in the Southwest US Desert and can't even imagine living within all the beautiful green!

I support the struggle of the indigenous peoples of the British Isles to preserve their culture, identity, and history in the face of mass immigration from the world's failed states.

If I owned the Island I'd love to leave the digs open but covered to protect them from the elements & allow archiologists to continue their excavation.
