I absolutely love the way the lyrics in the beginning sound all off-key and weird with the beeping and chirping instrumentation until that synth string/brass pad comes with a beautifully dark harmony and everything makes sense. THAT'S good songwriting, fellas.

A large group of my close friends and family gained an appreciation for massive attack many years ago. Lived under a roof with my brother and a bunch of our friends. We had a handful of massive attack albums between us and each night one would borrow albums from one another to listen to while sleeping. Had not twigged before how Bowie's Dark Star harked back to this powerful, heart-beat, meditative Massive Attack sound - so close somehow. The tempo, the talking over that heavy bass, the crescendo of high notes towards the end. Wow! !!!
