Thanks for tuning in everyone! Had this topic in the backlog for a while (I seem to recall a 4 hour video taking up some of my time last winter), but it was fun to take a look at still :) History of Halo | Documentary -> https://youtu.be/tEvGIeZ5gl8 New projects are in the works at the moment, including some new hardware comparisons, a couple other backlogged games I want to review/compare, and a new documentary that I'm currently capturing footage for. Stay tuned!

This is easily the best comparison! Good job! Although that’s not the crash of the Infinity, the Infinity is WAY bigger than that.

All I need for Halo Infinite is co op. And eventually more Campaign DLC.

This might be one of the best improvement I have ever seen to be honest

Infinite had a really satisfying gameplay and story was ok. But the enemies make the game really shine for me. Grunts are some of the funniest NPC's I've come across. All in all it was a good game.

4:23 The demo has always had a rushed look to it, but what’s strange is that we can still see the layout of the added scratches in the 2020 demo. It’s almost like the weapon model itself wasn’t fully finished when they had to throw out this demo. In any case, the final game definitely is more visually appealing than the demo and I’m glad the game was delayed. However, I still don’t understand how the game still isn’t content complete yet even with the delay (coop, forge, infection, firefight, etc.) Just makes me wonder how the game would have been had it been released in 2020. Would season 2 have taken two years to be released?

Surely disappointed with many things cut along with missing features like co-op during game launches. Either way, really great job for 343 with actually improving the visuals. Texture and many other details looks more sharper. The gunplay is very fun. All thats left is to deliver more content in more consistent manner and bring back Co-op and Forge.

I really liked Halo Infinite's campaign. I had played Halo 4 a few months beforehand, and I can tell 343 has learned a lot about how to make a Halo game feel like a Halo game. While there are some issues I had with the campaign, like the lack of environments, I enjoyed it quite a lot overall.

that shot while going up the elevator has the best improvement in my opinion. The mountains and environment as a whole look amazing in the retail version

Personally, I like the green themed infinite demo with the more saturated look But that is more stylized and alot of would not be happy with that

I hope the story goes back to feeling the way it did now that Joe is back, I’m confident he’ll be able to do it as long as they don’t require him to write stories they want

Personally, I prefer the way the E3 demo looks (not graphical, obviously). I don't know what it is but something about the retail version bothers me.

Fantastic work nick, you're my go to along with Digital Foundry for tech and graphic breakdowns. Really love this stuff.

10:21 Actually, the paint on the armor in the retail build does have a subtle, but effective, difference --- there is a layer of hexagonal patterning that gives it a carbon fiber kind of look.

crazy the lighting in the demo looks far better in alot of that cut scene, improved micro details in the texture work though for sure

I absolutely love Halo Infinite, and to be honest I am glad they took an extra year to polish it

The cutscene at 00:55 looks a lot better in the old build in my opinion. The light penetrates correctly the character's skin, and the eyes don't look "dead". The lighting also makes it look better in the old one. And finally, the facial animations are locked to 30 fps in the final build, which makes it look even worse. The only change I would have made in this cutscene is bump up the shadow resolution and it would look amazing.
