I hope all these young women in their 20’s see their true beauty without all the fillers and filters and makeup etc.
I’ve hated my face and body all my life. I punished myself through starvation. Hid myself from the world. Had bits chopped off and sewn back up. Spent way too many hours of my life trying to make my face as acceptable as possible.
I’m now in my 40’s and recently saw some photos of myself in my 20’s. I cannot believe I thought I was fat and ugly back then. I realise now that I was gorgeous. I would give anything to look like that now.
But I bet in another 20 years, when I’m 62, I’ll be saying how gorgeous I was in my 40’s! If only we could see ourselves in the moment ❤

Idk about you, but I’ve personally had such a warped view of what my skin is supposed to look like in my late 20s…
The faces we see on TV or in the movies are still ageless at 40. So I thought to myself “aren’t I too young to start getting wrinkles?” but the truth is, the human body starts aging & losing elasticity at around 25.
I think aging is wonderful. Not everyone gets the privilege to get older. Please don’t compare your skin to someone else’s! We all have a different life story ✨
Take care of your body, mind & skin inside & out. Be kind to yourself, because you’re bound to change. You’re going to see many new versions of yourself across the span of your lifetime… & that’s beautiful 💗

(P.S. I’m not implying 27 is old AT ALL — I’m just a baby — nor do I view my skin as flawed or aged! I also have nothing against anyone having cosmetic work done)

27 isn’t even old though? I’m 36 years old and I never think of myself as old. Society is strange. People in their twenties shouldn’t even be worried about wrinkles and Botox, it’s sad. I blame Instagram and platforms like that for making it seem like every woman over 25 needs some kind of cosmetic work.
