You're exactly right. That's a really good point that you said, a big part of arrogance is someone wanting to make other people feel bad so they can feel better about themselves. That definitely seems to be the main thing of what arrogance is and why it's bad.
I really like the quote about confidence, that confidence is not knowing for sure that you will succeed but knowing that you will be fine even if you don't succeed.
Arrogance comes for immaturity, and confidence comes from maturity. Immaturity in our minds is a huge part of the problems in the world. I believe all the problems and pain in the world, essentially comes from humans being immature. The unconscious mind is in a lot of ways very immature. I think that's a big part of mind-body pain. I think it's parts of the unconscious mind that are very immature and creates this situation of chronic pain for irrational reasons. It's the part of the mind that's like a very scared, angry, aggressive little kid that says and does very strange and sometimes very hurtful and painful things. I'm not an expert on this, but that is my feeling.

This!! I was just talking to my therapist about it. Bang on! I come from a culture where people downplay their achievements and are punished for being proud of themselves and sharing their successes so this is an important distinction. Thanks and love this format!
