I tried being assertive for the first time and was accused of bullying another coworker. See, that's how bosses try to intimidate you. Oh, and the coworker claimed she never felt bullied.

Thank you for your page. I have really learned a lot and during some massive changes at work, I have been able to navigate a lot with composure. I think a lot of the new upper management thought I would be intimidated by them and when I was cool, calm and rational, it was THEM that became flustered and unintentionally let slip a number of things they hadn't intended. I was able to process these things and in subsequent meetings, I had been able to prepare myself with notes, facts and figures, which caught them off guard even more.
Without your advice, I'd have been a quivering wreck and doing all the work of the people who had been let go without negotiating additional financial compensation.
You have made a HUGE difference to my current situation.
