Is there something in your life you need to say ‘no’ to in order to say ‘yes’ to something else? What is it?

We cannot allow ourselves to recklessly say yes to things that will rob us from growing closer to God. We also cannot be passive in allowing others to dictate our time. Every ‘yes’ or forced ‘yes’, is a ‘no’ to something else. And every ‘no’ is a ‘yes’ to something else.

My encouragement for you is to find what you are saying to ‘yes’ to that is making you say ‘no’ to what is necessary for you to be spiritually and emotionally healthy.

say yes to something, we are also saying no to something else. And whenever we say no to something, we are saying yes to something else.

For example, I don’t get much opportunity to watch television, but last night I did. And I ended up watching television until 2 in the morning. And in the morning, I struggled waking up, and I missed my prayer time.

And the kids woke up, the day got started, and I was tired, lethargic, and my head hurt the whole day. I said yes to television, and by saying yes to that, I said no to prayer and to practically having a good day.

And this doesn’t just apply to our spiritual lives, but it also applies to all aspects of our lives, that every yes is a no to something else, and every no is a yes to something else. It is important to guard our time and to guard our decisions, otherwise the world will make those decisions.
