I’m not squatting for peak strength, but I have increased the weight recently and noticed that it’s quite tricky to get good footing now. This is probably the reason. I didn’t really think about it, but of course trainers aren’t giving you solid full-ground contact across your foot. Thanks for the tips!

In college we were lucky enough to have a great S&C coach and they got us Nike Romaleos for lifting, but I see SO many guys at big football programs and even in the NFL squatting in cross trainers and running shoes, and it always bugs me. Seems like the most basic thing in the world for an S&C coach to know that isn't ideal at all, especially one that cpuld be making upwards of $1 million a year at bigger colleges and in the NFL.
