When the paint dries on a plastic bag, like a garbage bag, it flakes off and put all sorts of stuff into your finish

That could get very messy if the bag bunches up at all. I found that the sticky plastic wrap is a very inexpensive solution. It stays put, almost like it's glued. I think it's called Press n Seal. Or ... just buy a liner. :-)

If you the plastic down then it would be hard to get the paint on the roller and it would be sloppy because it would spread out that’s why you use a tray and the plastic thing is a good idea
