Here is a list of 7 harmful chemicals that are commonly found in hair gels to look out for:

1. Preservatives - Parabens:

2. Fragrances - Fragrance (Parfum):

3. Dyes - FD&C Dyes (e.g., FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Red No. 40):

4. Alcohols - Benzyl Alcohol: Often used as a preservative or solvent, it can cause contact dermatitis in some people

5. Sulfates

6. Silicones

7. Acrylates

Store bough gels can be filled with harmful chemicals that can cause scalp irritations, inflammation, breakage and hair loss. If you are using gel and experience slow hair growth or an irritated scalp you might want to think about cutting it out for a time.

Healthy Hair
I don't use gels on my hair. I use Mango butter on my edges and as a sealant on my two strand twists.
