I bought suspenders only for dress clothes and never went back. Your shirt always stays tucked in. You look tailored even when you wear non-fitted shirts. You can adjust how tight or loose you want them to be, and it helps show off your chest. I only recommend suspenders to people who are bulky with a decent physique. Otherwise, you'll look kinda werid. You will definitely get looks, good and bad

My personal method is instead of tucking your shirt in your pants, i tuck my shirt in my underwear. Hope this helps
