If people over 50 shouldn’t be squatting I guess that means they shouldn’t be getting off the toilet or squatting down to pick up their grandchildren, either.

Strength training is the best way to preserve and PROGRESS your fitness as you age. These moves, which involve pulling, pushing, squatting and hinging (like when you do a deadlift) are literally the basic functional moves for longevity.

If you’re not doing them now, add them to your training. All of these moves can be scaled to meet you at your current fitness level.
