I'd say I'm a planner. I typically like having a good idea of the structure of my work and then work on characters, with world building as well. That doesn't mean I get too into the outline because I've had that happen. But I make sure to set hard deadlines, like in one month I will get all the characters done, one month I shall get the outline finished. On top of that, I also try to set reasonable deadlines, like a number of words to hit each month, and scheduling time, like weekends to finish my work.
