It's easy to train your flock to enter the coop early. A little bribery goes a long way. I use sunflower seeds and a metal can lid so they know what's happening. By training them, I can put them up before the sun goes down, before predators come prowling. The coop is built securely, I haven't had a bird lost when they are shut inside. Having a "time for bed" saying helps clue the birds too.

I want to explain the trash can and bins in there are for them to lay eggs in, or just sit in if the weather isn't good, or to stay warm. I don't lay trash in the duck house, lol. They are also places to hide if a predator like a raccoon tries to reach for them, I learned that online from another duck keeper. Shalom.
