He’s right about how it feels organic as a sequel. You can see a pattern for successful sequels that were handled by the original filmmakers based around unused concepts from the original films; Toy Story and Star Wars come to mind, but I’m sure there’s numerous examples

If little bits of the t1000 were blown all over the place when that explosion went off inside of it at the end, why didn't those little bits get together and form a mini Terminator?

I don't buy it. He talked about having fever based hallucinations of a metal skeleton, with glowing red eyes, reaching at him through flames; and that was the original inspiration to write The Terminator. The T-1000 was a logical next step. It's almost like he's trying to justify something, when he really doesn't have to. This just seems odd to me, I have never seen this before, and I've watched numerous Behind the Scenes and other documentaries about the Terminator series of films...
