Fitness Myth #1
This post speaks about weight loss so may be triggering for some. I care about your self-care and wellbeing so wanted to put that here
Answer: You can't target fat loss on specific parts of your body.
I know, it sucks to read that but your body just doesn't lose weight that way.
Your body will decide where it wants to lose the fat which is down to fat stores and also genetics which we can't change â
When it comes to losing weight, take it as a full journey and don't focus on one area as it may leave you feeling unmotivated because you're not seeing the results that you want to see straight away.
Losing weight should be a long term and sustainable goal which means no crash diets, no short periods of time with intense exercise and no "quick" fixes. If you try any of these methods, you're likely to not succeed as you just can't maintain that level of change for a long period of time. You also deserve to lose weight a healthy way that doesn't lead to negative thoughts about yourself đ PLUS you want to be able to keep the weight you've lost off long term and you do that by learning more about nutrition and how important it is when exercising :)
Honestly, it's a strange world out there with many companies marketing a product that can "make you drop 2 dress sizes in 6 weeks". It's absolute rubbish. Yeah, it might do that but at what cost? Your happiness for food? Your emotional well-being after you've finished your "diet"? You deserve waaay more than that!
My goal is to highlight these myths and be real with you all. Seems the media has made us think it's very complicated when it comes to losing weight and you have to do x,y,z to make it happen. (Before anyone comes at me, I completely understand that it's not completely straight forward for everyone but education about nutrition will truly help).
