I was born in canada to Afrikaanse parents and learnt how to speak it when I was a kid, now I know how I probably sound like to my family back home 😂 On a different note, your placement of ‘maak’ after ‘afrikaanse video’ sounded a little off to me at first (I would’ve placed it before) but that may be due to me not learning the grammar formall

Your accent is fine. Your pronunciation is better than many locals who have Afrikaans as a second language (your vocab too- which is an indictment of our public schools more than anything else, but I digress. Take comfort in that you're better than most locals)
However your cadence is jarring. If you listen to a little RSG while doing chores, it'll improve dramatically in a surprisingly short amount of time. I'd bet money on it.
If you want. You're just fine as is. You could easily navigate South Africa 🇿

God whoever commented this must be so dense, cause no one would say "I'm learning française" neither with the french word for "french" nor the meticulous pronounciation that is usually expected of high level french speaking
Just because the name of something is the same in two langauges, doesnt mean you're gonna say it the same in either language, thats why there are entire tables of sounds for each and every language, every language sounds different, even to how the letter 'n' sounds
Also, i just want to mention this cause i reminded myself of that one teacher who foeced their students to take on spanish pronounciations of their names (or even just random spanish words if they weren't satisfied iirc) but you can't force an accent on someone, thats something you have to earn by speaking with others that already speak the language you want to learn
AND THAT RHYMED

That's cool! I know an Afrikaans family that immigrated to Canada.
