Exactly 💯. Christopher Nolan is a blockbuster filmmaker but Denis Villeneuve's success gives a lot of hope for daring filmmaking and just for art. I hope this movie sparks a fuse and we get more auteur directors not just in Hollywood but everywhere else especially in France and Japan they use to make great movies in 40s 50s 60s...... I don't know what happened to them. A good samurai movie hasn't come since the 1900s.

I'm a frequent movie theatre patron and like to reward media that I highly appreciates with repeat viewings. I'm happy to say that Dune 1.2 has now tied Barbie for the most number of theatrical viewings I've had—5.
I was so Dunepilled that these 5 viewings occurred within the first 2 weeks of release [1]! Despite the fever having gone down a little, I still plan on seeing it once or twice more during the remainder of the theatrical run.

Agree! Except I would say not all directors are the same, so I'd say: "let SOME directors do what they do".
