We played this beautiful song at my wife’s funeral in 2005. My lovely second wife Barbara Wagner was only 50 years young, she died of bone cancer. To this day, this song brings me joy of our great relationship together. Barb was a musician herself, she played the guitar and all keyboards with such beauty and class. I still love and miss her every single day of my life. Hopefully 🙏🏼 one day soon I can be back with her where I belong, not here alone missing our time together 😢…….Thank you Clare and Pink Floyd for this amazing, wonderful most perfect song

Clare's improvised vocal made that song, and that song made the album so much more profound.

I'm so pleased she got royalties for the original music that she produced that made such a huge difference and contribution to that song. She used a voice like an instrument and the notes that she sang were completely her own, they weren't written down so she made them up which means that she was an integral part of that piece of music and deserves all the world is that she gets.
If a guitar player had played on that track coming up with an original piece to form part of the song, just as she had, I suspect there would have been no question about that guitar player getting royalties for the original music he had played.
