I'm from england... i think we are somewhere directly in the middle ๐ the north is SO FRIENDLY, im from the north... but still in cities we totally avoid eye contact and greetings ๐ then when we get back to our villages EVERYONE smiles and nods ๐ and im always still in city mode avoiding ๐london is a WHOLE other ballpark, like a different country altogether, just dont make eye contact there unless you wanna be mugg

Iโm actually heard this about most of Europe. When Europeans are asked about their impressions of Americans, the two things that always come up are that they are polite and will talk to strangers and that they are loud. And frankly as an American, I am OK with that stereotype.
