That face when pulling the valve cover reminded me of the rush of emotions I felt when i pulled the front main bearing off of my seized 351 cleveland M-code engine. The mains had rusted to the bearings, the rods were only slightly better. This was 2 years ago. The engine block as of yesterday is painted and ready for reassembly, just waiting on new pistons.

That fact that you went to the trouble of powder coating them just shows you are a true hotrodder at heart. 😁 Even though you can only see a bit of them they make the engine "pop" and look awesome soo... 👍

I have actually overhauled one of these.turned out that the original engine decided to eat a valve,etch its story into the cylinder wall,knock a hole into the piston,and season the manifold and exhaust port in a thick coat of pre melted aluminum from the aftermath. All of this legendary event happened in cyl. number 4

I only paint items like intake manifold valve cover exc if I have to take them off to replace gasket or what not makes the job more satisfying in the end
