The hotel Luke stayed at, Banff Springs, is not the original CN railroad hotel.
The first was built in 1888. It was a wooden structure that burned down in 1926.
Two years later the current hotel opened. (Minus the Prentice Tower)
An incredible feat considering the size and artisan detail using local rock (Rundle Stone)
The class and beauty, spas, architecture and geography, the Food!… makes the hotel a vacation in itself although these days you have to be as wealthy as Rogans and Combs to stay there.
