My problem with talk therapy is that the few therapists I’ve found who take my insurance are simply not good therapists. They are not asking any questions to dig deeper (like you do Kati). I had one who acted like a cheerleader, going on and on about how cool she thought I was, and now I have one who acts a grandma, ranting about politics, and telling me I should marry my boyfriend. I do have some real issues, so a little bit of professionalism would be appreciated over here.

Talk therapy feels like constantly picking at a wound

CBT and ACT have strong behavioural components. Most folks expected to have action plans outside of the 1-1 sessions.

I am in talk therapy but it's hard for me to talk about certain topics and sometimes I dissociate a little bit. Anxiety is a big problem as well as trauma.

Talk therapy does not work for me because I am stubborn and do not listen! I have a Life Coach, a OCD specialist , a psychiatrist and a PHD psychologist, plus my family all telling me that I can not heal until I completely cut ties with my wife… and I just can’t let go !
Plus I am broke from all this therapy!

Perhaps this 40 percent you speak of left therapy too early. Its takes years. Plz show the statistics you speak of before making statements like these.

You seriously need to back up your assertions with sound empirical evidence. Citations needed.

Can you show where are you are getting this, only 40 percent from?. Most ppl need meds and therapy so it's probably a lot more then 40 percent . You also seem to to encourage medication use.

How to talk therapy work when you got problems that you can't resolve physically or mentally it doesn't work it does not take away the fact that I'm talking to my phone and I can't read him right it doesn't take away the fact that I got mental illnesses that doesn't work it doesn't take away the fact that I've got illnesses that I can't I can't resolve it doesn't work so how does talk so if he work because it doesn't do me no favours
